Refractive Anomalies

MYOPIA

In myopia the rays are not focused on the retina, but in front of it so the image is not displayed clearly.

Distance vision is affected more than close vision.

Myopia displays the highest progression during the growth period and usually stabilizes in adulthood.

Laser is highly effective in myopia, fully restoring sight and ridding the patient of glasses.

HYPEROPIA

In hyperopia the rays are not focused on the retina, but behind it so the image is not displayed clearly.

Close vision is affected more than distance vision. Hyperopia shows the highest progression usually after the age of 35 to 40 years whereupon the eye adaptability decreases.

LASER is indicated for hyperopia depending on the degree and the age of the patient.

ASTIGMATISM

In astigmatism, the curvature of the corneal surface is not uniform, and the rays of light do not focus at the same level resulting in distortion of objects far and near.

The patient with astigmatism sees objects distorted or blurred, regardless to their distance.
LASER is particularly effective in astigmatism.

PRESBYOPIA

In Presbyopia the eye’s ability to focus on nearby objects decreases. It usually occurs after the age of 40-45 years.

The patient with presbyopia sees close objects blurry.

We treat presbyopia using customized solutions according to the needs and requirements of the patient.
